"I Love You, but You're Fired." (The Unfiltered Truth of a Family Business)
Welcome back to "Inside the Box," where we usually talk about clean ingredients and high-impact glow. But today? Today we are talking about the ingredient that isn’t listed on the label but is in every single jar: Pure Chaos.
Running a Couplepreneur lifestyle isn't a montage on Instagram with lo-fi beats. It’s a full-contact sport. We’ve finally caught up on bills—Hallelujah!—and we are scaling the business faster than we ever thought possible. We are at the top of the mountain, but as soon as we look out, we realize it was just a foothill. There’s a bigger, steeper mountain ahead, and we are already tired.
Right now, there is "tension" in the air. The stability of Lemon Box has never been stronger, but the dynamic inside the house has never been more unpredictable. It’s a classic "Martin & Gina" scenario, and we are letting you watch the whole episode.
🦁 Perspective 1: The Mastermind Standstill (What He Said)
Yo! Let’s have some fun while making a powerful and relatable statement. Let’s say the things that everyone’s thinking, but no one says out loud when it comes to the roles you must play between the two dynamics of Family and Business.
Currently, Marcus and Rochelle are at "odds" due to family issues and relationship dynamics, but business must go on. As I try to dictate this post, the kids are on the balcony makin’ way too much noise. The lovely disruptions of childhood are actively distracting this creation.
You see, at any point, either one of us can slip into "form" due to our Scorpio nature. Right now, Marcus "seems" to be at a "standstill" while Rochelle is operating as if she has no help.
To hear her tell it, she’s cooking, cleaning, making product, and listening to Marcus add another task onto the 36 she’s already doing. Oh, and it’s important to note for the timeline: ain’t been no love makin’ in a week or so, lol.
Marcus is surrounded by estrogen but seems to effortlessly maintain "the God in him" as he maneuvers from Wife to baby mother. I think you see the "chaos" that can cause. Look, this is what I'm talking about, why am I speaking in third person? My mind is gone, lol.
Anywho, this is all shallow. It’s a lot deeper, but that "Perspective" along with the intrusive thoughts will stay "Inside." (Pun absolutely intended.)
✨ Perspective 2: The Superwoman Trap (What She Said)
From Rochelle: Two sides of the story! The past three months have been "Fun" (please read that with the maximum amount of sarcasm).
So, I’ve been sick for 10 days straight, and literally started my period right after, so two weeks of no intimacy is honestly a much-needed break. Frankly, I’m exhausted mentally, but I feel amazing at the same time.
My mind feels clearer because my husband has set a clear path that's easier to follow than all this past scheming lol—that's a joke, so that’s a huge plus. But like anything, when the path clears, more things come into play.
Apparently, I am Superwoman. In addition to the business, I "can't run" properly because I seem to always fall short of implementing every last detail my husband creates as each day passes, lol—sometimes it feels like a setup, haha.
On top of that noted information, I now have to help raise his child, just a little bit, you know, the regular stepmother things like cooking and feeding, potty training, etc. Except this situation comes with a major "red card" that makes it way different than your typical where the stepchild stays with Dad for the weekend. LMAO, that was the longest run-on sentence—can you tell I have no friends and not one person to talk to? lol.
Anyways, I do my best, and frankly, work must go on for real. I've been killing it in a good way, whether anyone sees it or not! There’s always room for improvement!
🤝 The Conclusion: It’s Not sanitized, It’s Real.
So, how do we maneuver between Wife/Husband and Boss/Employee?
Honestly? We don't. The roles bleed. There is no such thing as "Balancing Work and Life" when your warehouse is in your home and your business partner is sharing your bed (when we are actually speaking, that is).
We are Scorpios. We fight hard, but we build harder. The stability has strengthened tremendously while at the same time becoming even more unpredictable.
When you buy from Lemon Box Beauty, you aren't buying from a faceless corporation trying to look "minimal and simple." You are buying from a raw, beautiful, stressful, triumphant, chaotic, loving family dynamic.
This isn’t just a Kawaii beauty brand; it’s the physical manifestation of our resilience. That Glitter Jelli isn’t just sparkle; it’s a distraction from a potty-training toddler and a business deadline. That Curl CTRL isn’t just for definition; it’s for defining the boundary between "Buy me something sweet'" and "How many sales you make."
It’s deep, it’s shallow, it’s hilarious, and it’s emotional. It’s our favorite love story/movie, and we are right in the middle of it.
Welcome to the family. Your Perspectives Inside.
